Singapore's red jungle rooster, nature’s answer to a morning alarm clock with attitude, struts around like it owns the place—because, well, it kind of does. When I'm trundling up the east coast on my red bicycle I see these guys and their harems fiercely protecting their territories. With feathers that look like they’ve been dipped in hot sauce and a crow that could wake the dead, this chook’s main hobby seems to be reminding everyone that it’s always time to get up, even if it's 3 a.m. It's as if nature took a regular rooster, cranked up the swagger, and added a pinch of "gangsta-tude".
