Barry Harris was a highly influential jazz pianist known for his mastery of bebop and deep understanding of jazz harmony. Born in 1929 in Detroit, he played with legends like Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, and John Coltrane. In addition to his performance career, he was a dedicated educator, teaching jazz theory and improvisation to generations of students.
